Tracking Threads
BadHabitRoasters
is there somewhere I can see which threads I'm tracking? I am making plans for my first fluid bed roaster and I've been tracking threads when I find something I want to go back to as I consolidate my design. Now I can't find anything that tells me which tread I'm tracking.

Thanks!

Not sure on that one, let me reach our to our webmaster and see if the option exists.

Thanks for asking about it

I've reached out to our webmaster to see if there are any options for allowing tracked threads to be viewable in a list.

Sorry for the delay in getting an answer to your question. I've reached out again today and hopefully will get something back soon.

Thanks for your patience!

If you're looking for a list of your tracked threads, you can see them by clicking the link on the home page labelled "My Tracked Threads" (https://homeroast...hreads.php)

You can't see the threads someone else is tracking, though.

Hi skpacman! If it was a snake it would have bit me several times! I've gotten used to just glancing at the home page and not really seeing the details so I completely missed the buttons at the bottom of the list of recent posts on our home page. Talk about a Doh moment.

Thanks for your help!

Thank you. As allenb said, if it was a snake...... That's what i was looking for! There is so much content in this forum that I can't remember where I've seen mention of something I want to reference. Very useful feature!

But the next question is why tracked threads eventually drop off the tracked thread list? I've tracked hundreds of threads over the years and only my latest tracked thread shows in the list. This has also been raised as an issue previously I believe, as users eventually stop getting notified of new posts in tracked threads. Maybe there's a timeout or similar?

According to the code for that page, it's pulling every thread you've ever turned on tracking for from the database, so there's not a limit to the number of records it's pulling. But it is limiting it to threads you actually have access granted to and aren't hidden/deleted by the OP or mods.

There's also code in there to "paginate" the list. There should be options near the bottom to page through your list of followed threads 10 at a time.

So, if you're finding there are threads you're positive you've tracked but aren't seeing in that list, then there is likely a database error from moving hosts. The way to solve that is to just enable tracking on that thread again and the database will correct itself.

Hi skpacman

Just an update on my tracked threads. When I last posted in this thread, I had three tracked threads, including this thread. All three have recently disappeared off my tracked list, leaving two that I tracked more recently.

I have not clicked any of the 'stop' tracking link.

I'll check the logic on that page and get back to you.

Last I understood from the PHP-Fusion CMS devs, the tracked threads list only shows threads you've tracked with new posts. If there's not a new post in a tracked threads, it won't show in the list.

Let me confirm this in the code and I'll get back to you soon.
