Want to buy SR500

My SR500 is going on the blink. I want to buy one if you have one you'd like to get rid of. The 'timer' button won't work if you know how to fix that let me know.

Sorry to hear about your Freshroast timer issue!
Shoot us more details on the "timer button" problem. Is it an up-down membrane button?

Membrane on front panel, with a micro-switch underneath, soldered on PCB. Easy replacement, not SMD type.
If the click is not clearly heard or sensed with the finger, probably the micro-switch is broken.

In these roasters the buttons are of different type as in the link above.

The switch is a replaceable assembly, it's a soldering job.
The only challenge is to find the right button height, they are a lot of sizes, check attached.

I don't know if it's a membrane switch or a micro switch?

If you have some old mice around you might be able to steal a good micro switch from it to use (if the right height and type). Now if the plastic membrane is broken any height switch will get you running. Gives you a chance to practice your soldering skills.

Better than outside pictures is a description of the press attempt feeling.
If no click, then switch stuck.

Yes for a micro switch the thin metal plate fail and stay collapsed, at least the ones I have seen. Now if it's a membrane switch they fail with a break in the trace or by turning the contacts to powder if this has that type of switch?

Going to attempt a solder this weekend, well that is the wife will attempt it. I bought another SR500 but it won't get hotter than 440 so second crack eludes me.

My 'new' switch isn't the right height - it's more akin to the 6.0x6 0x4.5 size.
But that doesn't matter as I can just tooth-pick the thing to push up the 'timer'.
Wish I could just turn the stupid timer off I'm smart enough not to burn down the house LOL.

I assume all amperage and voltage on all of these are the same - the wife asks about that.

The amps and volts probably aren't the same, but that switch is only signaling the board, the current is miniscule.
