Newby here 3 roasts in
gvayl
Hi,
Just got my Gene cafe a few weeks ago. Did a practice roast on old beans from a friend. Then under roasted some Panama beans.... 8% weight loss. Last roast 12.7% which is a city according to the sweet Maria's card :).

Anyhow Mike question here is does anyone have a link to the original post from Jim Schulman that describes the gene Cafe roasting process? I've been able to find quotes while searching the forms but not the original post.

Thank you!

Are you sure is a post specifically about Genecafe, or a generic post about roasting, that applies (could apply) to Genecafe as well ?

gvayl
Not sure... Saw this 3rd post here:

Ah, those figures are related to hot air temperatures, not bean.
I.e. what you read ona GC display.

They are derived from this thread about a general roasting approach, that starts with a JS quote: https://homeroast...post_62977

The quote itself originates from a HB thread, again not related to GeneCafe.

Thanks!
