I didn't have any success with the pottery lead (except for some useful pictures of some ceramic insulators that I will keep in the back of my mind for wire connections). I think pottery kilns will tend to have elements embedded in grooves in brick walls, I don't see them using mica formers.

I tried a few ceramic related searches using the word mica, they all came to mica powders as a colouring medium for glazes
