Hey all, "brave the smoke" is not currently federally copyrighted (one of our paralegals at work just checked for me), and Calif service mark/trade mark records aren't searchable via web so I can't tell whether Tom registered the design locally in Calif. Nevertheless, since it was Tom's idea, we would want his blessing for whatever we might do. I do not know him, but I suspect many in the HRO family do. I personally LOVE the phrase/slogan for the group. David I noticed this weekend that Tom has created a new version of the Brave the Smoke T-Shirt. See http://www.sweetm...shirts.php for details. Initial thoughts: 1. Tom has expertise in T-Shirt design, manufacture and distribution. 2. Nearly all of us are his customers. 3. Might he help to make a limited edition run of HRO special stuff for the benefit of his core customers? (My extra thought -- good exposure on the SW site for HRO, and maybe at a premium price for the shorts/hats/whatever a slice of the $$ could go to CoffeeKids. Everyone wins, even the 'Kids.). Thoughts? David Edited by ginny on 08/31/2009 12:45 PM |

David I like all of your ideas!! thanks for posting them. I thought I posted the fact that I spoke with Maria about Brave the Smoke?? Guess I forgot. We do have the url bravethesmoke.org which has not been setup as yet. Maria asked if we would not use it since they have used it in the past. Clearly we all have things we have thought about that sit, we use, then they sit again... Part of the process of any venture are these type of creative ideas that pop up and are used from time to time... I have offered to give them the url but as yet have not heard from Maria as yet. I personally love Maria, Tom and Ben and all the crew at my coffee place and would never impede their business in any way at all. if they tell us ok, we will use it since I do like the idea. maybe it could be a forum used to help coffee kids and other people trying to make life better for coffee farmers and their families. ginny Edited by ginny on 08/31/2009 12:38 PM |

I'm kind of partial to "Embrace the smoke!". Sorry, no art skills, don't have a logo for it. Perhaps someone who is more artistic? Best Regards To All, Jon Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand.

Well, I am a on the side Graphics designer. New to the site and just saw this thread so I will try to find the time to photoshop something up over the weekend. Have an idea or two. One question - is the official site abbreviation HR or HRO? Everyone seems to be doing something different. -Jon
