I bought a new roaster for the BBQ off of ebay. It looks like two colundars put toghther. It worked well and I could see the beans which I can't in my other drum roaster. I roasted Blue Bell Mountain from El Salvedor, it is resting now and I roasted it rather dark. I will let you know how it tastes.

Gonna roast this evening. Too much to choose from! I'm leaning toward Puerto Rican! May go with the colombian. Anyone roast the puerto rican from CBC yet? |

The El Salvador Blue Bell Mt. was roasted 2 dark and was rather bitter. I made extract out of it because it tastes better this way than brewed.

I decided to roast the Puerto Rican. Notes from CBC said to roast well into C2. Smells great off roast. Chocolaty rich! This stuff was $10.75 a lb so I hope I'm blown away! I think that's the most I've spent on a lb of green coffee so far! |

Last evening I roasted a batch of Mexico Organic Nayarit Dry-Process beans that I just received from Sweet Maria's. This morning I'm enjoying those results! Great coffee -- nice chocolate notes. Roasted to near Viennese. Really nice full body. Will try the same bean tonight to a City+ level and see how that works. |

Panama Carmen Estate Dry Process. Never seen a Panama dry process before, so I'm excited about this one! Roated FC. C1 was about a minute late. Roast looks a little lighter than I was shooting for, but it couldnt have been far from the door of C2. |

Kind of pricy, but I've always wanted to buy a big bag of it. I wonder if there'll be any tangerine or floral honey in yours? Maybe strawberry? I'm excited for you while just thinking about it. CHAD I just got this yesterday from Sweet Maria's. I just went to their webpage and it seems to be sold out!? That went fast! Roast notes say peach, dried apricot, mango, melon @ lighter roasts and chocolate @ darker roasts. I think I got right in the middle. Here is some info from their archive: Country: Panama Grade: SHB Region: Volcan, Paso Ancho Mark: Carmen Estate, 1750 meters+ Processing: Dry-Processed Crop: July 2009 Arrival Appearance: 0 d/300gr, 17-18 Screen Varietal: Catuai, Caturra, Typica Intensity/Prime Attribute: Bold intensity / Fruit and Chocolate Roast: City to Full City+: The flavor is greatly transformed by the roast, from light fruit tones to intense chocolate notes. See the review for more details. Compare to: Ethiopia Sidamo dry process coffees! |

I had this coffee for the first time at a local espresso shop last week. It was roasted by Jim's Beans somewhere on the East coast. I'd been on an all-nighter at work, walked into the Pony Espresso, and was surprised to see this offering! It was a complex cup, thicker body than I expected, slight wineyness to the fruit, little spice in the background as I recall. CHAD Roaster: CoffeeAir II 2# DIY air roaster
